POSITION SUMMARY:

Demonstrate proficiency in performing MRI imaging exams for all ages and adhere to safety procedures.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

MRI Tech operates the MRI equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis, assist in the management of patients and present images to the physician for diagnosis. Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection. Prepare and enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed consent. Float to off-sites as needed Rotating weekends and holidays required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program. ARRT/NYSDOH License. Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Certified to do contract injections. Specialized training in MRI Technology and cross-sectional anatomy. Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting, walking, lifting, pulling and/or positioning and transferring patients.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

MRI Certification. As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs. Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.
