Odys Composite Technician OpportunityOur mission at Odys is simple - we build safe, sustainable aircraft to cut travel time in half on the world's busiest corridors. Our flagship aircraft Alta enables travelers to skip the big-airport hassle by using city helipads and local airports to connect cities less than 1,000 miles apart (approx 40% of flights). And on average cut CO2 by 76% on tens of billions of flight miles globally.To get there, we start with our UAV called Laila for commercial logistics, medical transport, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and defense missions. We're deploying aircraft with launch partners (Fiji Airways, Honeywell, Aramex, US Navy) beginning in 2026 and already have firm orders for aircraft under contract.We're a team of expert engineers from deep tech and aerospace that focus on fast iterations loops (completed transition flight faster than our peers) combined with mastery of the aircraft certification process. Previously, our team developed custom drones, brought multiple automotive platforms into production, and electrified transportation vehicles that magnetically levitate, that roll, that fly. Together, we've been learning, developing, building, testing, and preparing for this challenge our entire lives.About the RoleWe are looking for a Composite Technician to support the fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of composite and metallic structures across our aircraft platforms. You'll work closely with engineers and other technicians to manufacture composite parts, complete bonded assemblies, and install airframe components, propulsion mounts, wiring harnesses, and actuation systems.This role is highly hands-on and dynamic. You'll support prototype builds, composite layups, mold and tool preparation, vacuum bagging, oven curing, trimming, bonding, and final aircraft assembly across multiple projects. You'll play a critical role in getting our aircraft built, integrated, and ready for flight.Your ResponsibilitiesPrepare molds and tooling, including cleaning, applying release agents, and preparing positive and negative moldsPerform composite layups using prepreg and wet-layup materialsMix and apply resins, structural adhesives, sealants, fillers, and primers in accordance with work instructionsPerform vacuum bagging, leak checks, and oven-cure operationsTrim, drill, sand, finish, and prepare composite parts for bonding and assemblyAssemble bonded composite and composite-to-metal structuresSet up and operate tools such as torque wrenches, drills, saws, sanders, heat guns, and soldering ironsFabricate and assemble test rigs, test articles, jigs, and fixturesInterpret engineering models, drawings, work instructions, layup schedules, and test proceduresFabricate, assemble, and handle tight-tolerance aerospace componentsAssemble and install prototype aircraft mechanical and electrical componentsSupport in-house and external structural and systems testingInspect parts for appearance, defects, function, dimensions, and tolerancesOperate ground-support equipment such as forklifts and gantry cranesMaintain composite materials, tools, equipment, and shop areas in a clean and organized conditionTravel occasionally to machine and fabrication shops to obtain parts or purchase equipmentWork collaboratively and communicate effectively with teams of diverse backgrounds and skillsYour Background Should BeHigh school diploma or equivalentHands-on experience with composite fabrication, repair, or assemblyExperience with prepreg or wet layup, mold preparation, vacuum bagging, and oven curingExperience applying resins, structural adhesives, sealants, fillers, and primersExperience trimming, drilling, sanding, and finishing composite componentsExperience using hand tools, powered tools, and precision measuring equipmentExperience assembling, fabricating, or handling critical and tight-tolerance componentsAbility to read engineering drawings, work instructions, and specificationsUnderstanding of composite workmanship standards, material handling, and contamination controlExperience manufacturing or assembling aircraft and aircraft components is a plusExperience with bonded aerospace structures is a plusExperience operating forklifts, gantry cranes, or other ground-support equipment is a plusCNC machining experience is a plusOSHA certification is a plusKnowledge of quality procedures, inspection methods, dimensions, and tolerances is a plus
