Job Overview: Provides direct patient care services to individuals exhibiting communication and or swallowing disorders. Coordinates services with other health professionals. May assist in the training and supervision of students. Qualifications: Required: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate Member of ASHA AHA BLS Provider Certification Evidence of continuing education is necessary to meet licensing requirements Thorough knowledge of the theoretical principles and clinical application employed in the diagnosis and management of various communication and swallowing disorders Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties Completion of the national examination if beginning Clinical Fellowship Year affiliation Preferred: Student clinical experience in pediatrics; rehabilitation experience Knowledge of normal development Certifications and Licenses Required: NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate Member of ASHA AHA BLS Provider Certification Scheduling Requirements: Per Diem Varied Hours Essential Functions: Delivers effective therapeutic services that are relevant to population served and remains knowledgeable of current techniques Communicates Speech-Language evaluations on population served that accurately and efficiently identifies strengths and needs in the area being evaluated.
