As our Certified Peer Support Specialist on our Cumberland County team, you will provide individualized, strengths focused community-based interactions with assigned caseload for the purpose of promoting the development of wellness self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills and development of independent living skills for housing, employment, and full community inclusion.

Interested but not yet certified? We offer a Peer Support Scholarship Program in which we can assist you in obtaining certification upon hire AND cover the cost! We also provide mileage reimbursement!

Pay

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. Flexible, based on you and your client's needs.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement.

Job Responsibilities of a Certified Peer Support Specialist

• Promotes independent living skills through modeling, feedback, support to individuals around housing needs
• Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
• Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
• Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
• Provide linkage to community resources
• Maintain and submit required documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service authorization requests)

Qualifications of a Certified Peer Support Specialist

• Current Peer Support Certification (we can help you obtain upon hire!)
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• HS diploma or GED
• Min of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure
