Carpenter

Reporting Relationship: The carpenter will report directly to the assigned Project Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: None, unless acting in an Assistant Foreman capacity during the absence of the Project Forman. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Is able to work efficiently in a crew. 2. Can adequately perform the basics of rough framing, sheeting, drywall, roofing and siding. 3. Works within the limits of a carpentry crew. 4. Has the basic ability to read and understand construction drawings and schedules to complete framing and finishing tasks. 5. Has the ability in instruct and train lesser-qualified workers in a crew. 6. Install framing that is plumb, level and true. 7. Install windows, pre-hung doors and simpler door hardware. 8. Install finish work that is both clean and true. 9. Install concrete forms that are straight and true that are well braced. 10. Works within the limits of a carpentry crew and can complete individual tasks under supervision. 11. Practices safe work habits and maintains good jobsite housekeeping. 12. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs. 13. All other duties as assigned. Work Performance: 1. Follow directions and is able to work with little supervision. 2. Less than 5% of all work put in place requires corrective measures. 3. Works at a productive rate while complying with the Company's safety rules. 4. Practices good customer relations and has good communication skills. 5. Work quality meets or exceeds the Company's standards. 6. Continually strives to improve skills. 7. Maintains a good attendance record throughout the year. Experience & Qualifications: 1. Minimum of four (4) years field construction experience as a Carpenter Level 1 or a two (2) year degree in building trades. 2. Has completed a (90) day probation period with TRB. 3. Maintains a complete set of carpenter tools in good working and operating condition. 4. Proficient in the safe and efficient operation of power tools. 5. Is comfortable with heights.
