We're looking for an experienced Consumer Lending Manager to lead our consumer lending team, strengthen lending operations, and help shape the future of lending at North Star.
What You'll DoLead & Develop the Team- Coach, mentor, and support consumer lending staff
- Build lending knowledge, confidence, and sound credit judgment
- Promote accountability, consistency, and exceptional member service
- Provide leadership for consumer lending activities from application through closing
- Support complex loan decisions and underwriting guidance
- Monitor lending production, portfolio performance, and key metrics
- Partner with leadership on lending strategy, products, and rates
- Identify opportunities to improve lending workflows and efficiency
- Recommend enhancements to products, systems, and member experiences
- Stay current on lending technology, trends, and best practices
- Monitor portfolio quality and emerging lending risks
- Ensure compliance with lending policies, regulations, and underwriting standards
- Provide oversight of delinquency management and Visa credit card portfolio requirements
- 5-8 years of consumer lending or financial services experience
- Strong knowledge of underwriting, credit analysis, and loan decisioning
- Leadership, coaching, and employee development experience
- Understanding of consumer lending regulations and compliance
- Experience with lending technology and loan origination systems
- Credit union or community banking experience preferred
- Lending staff grow through your leadership and coaching
- Lending decisions are consistent, timely, and compliant
- Members experience responsive, solutions-focused service
- Portfolio performance remains strong and risks are managed proactively
- Lending processes continue to improve and evolve
