As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer IV, you will play a key role in establishing the manufacturing process, designing the process and sequence that this complex system will follow from assembly, testing, and transportation. Working closely with hardware, Quality, Reliability, software, service, and manufacturing engineering teams, you'll drive manufacturing readiness initiatives, support PFMEA-based risk reduction efforts, and help transition traditional manufacturing methods to scalable modular build and test strategies.

Responsibilities

Drive Manufacturing Readiness & Scale-Up

• Support the transition of a next-generation semiconductor platform from product development into sustained production.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, assembly methods, test strategies, and production documentation.
• Support implementation of modular build and modular test strategies that improve quality, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks associated with product commercialization and production ramp activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve yield, throughput, quality, and manufacturability.

Partner Early with Design Engineering

• Participate in design reviews and development discussions to ensure manufacturability, assembly, testability, and scalability requirements are incorporated before release.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to proactively address manufacturing risks and reduce downstream ECO churn, rework, and production disruptions.
• Influence design decisions through manufacturing expertise, risk analysis, and practical problem-solving.
• Support a concurrent engineering approach that strengthens collaboration between product development and manufacturing teams.

Solve Complex Manufacturing Challenges

• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Support PFMEA activities, Control Plan development, process validation, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Analyze manufacturing data and implement corrective actions that improve performance, reliability, and quality.
• Take ownership of complex technical projects and manufacturing improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 8 years of manufacturing engineering experience, or equivalent combination of advanced degree and experience.
• Experience supporting complex electromechanical products in manufacturing, sustaining engineering, NPI, or production scale-up environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with PFMEA, process validation, risk assessment, Control Plans, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and technical decisions without direct authority.
• Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor capital equipment experience.
• Experience with vacuum systems, thin-film processing equipment, ion beam systems, cryogenic systems, automation, or other highly engineered electromechanical products.
• Experience transitioning products from development into production.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
• SAP or other ERP system experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of manufacturing readiness, product commercialization, production scale-up, and NPI methodologies.
• Experience applying PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, risk management, and quality engineering principles.
• Demonstrated success developing scalable and repeatable manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical products.
• Strong understanding of concurrent engineering, DFM, DFA, and product lifecycle management principles.
• Expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T requirements, electrical schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience supporting assembly, integration, subsystem test, module test, and final system test activities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations.
• Ability to influence decisions through technical expertise, sound judgment, and data-driven recommendations.
• Ability to thrive in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments with evolving processes and multiple product configurations .

Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $111,973—$141,832, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
