As a Schlotzsky's Baker at El Paso International Airport, you'll start your day creating fresh, delicious bread and pizza crusts that travelers and airport guests can enjoy throughout the day. There's nothing quite like walking into a restaurant filled with the smell of freshly baked bread!

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and bake Schlotzsky's signature Fresh Baked Daily bread and pizza crusts.
• Follow recipes and baking procedures to consistently produce high-quality products.
• Make sure bread and crusts meet Schlotzsky's standards for appearance, texture, and quality.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain baking equipment.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Keep the baking area clean, organized, and ready for production.
• Work as part of an energetic team in the exciting El Paso International Airport environment.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Answer guest questions regarding menu, pricing, and other related questions.
• Operate a cash register.
• Accept payment via cash, credit card, or gift card/certificate and make change when appropriate.
• Balance cash drawer and open and close according to restaurant and cash handling procedures.
• Calculate appropriate discounts to determine price.
• Maintain appropriate portion control according to Fresquez standards.
• Wrap or bag food for guests.
• Take and complete drink orders for guests.
• Food preparation.
• Maintain proper food handling standards.
• Stocks restaurant and lobby area as needed.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a positive, helpful attitude and work well with other team members.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, other personnel, and visitors.
• Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a busy restaurant environment. This role routinely uses a cash register, handles cash, restaurant equipment and appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals. Noise level is moderate to loud.

This position requires constant standing. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position. Scheduled hours vary by restaurant needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Typical days and hours of work for this position are Monday-Sunday 4am-10pm or later (varying shifts). Other days/hours and holidays required as needed or assigned.

Required Experience:

Cashier, cashier handling, or crew member experience.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant food safety and sanitation laws, principles, procedures, and practices.

Ability to read and comprehend primary language spoken at the work location.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screening.

Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

Satisfactory completion of a background check in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business rules and technical procedures.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management and team members.

Other (Secondary) Responsibilities:

Assist with other restaurant functions including other assigned duties as needed. Must be able to fill in as needed.
