Lead Piping DesignerLocation: Greer, SC 6 months temp to hire Compensation: $60/hr+ Our client is experiencing significant growth in project demand and is seeking a highly experienced Lead Piping Designer to support and guide their team. This individual will play a key leadership role, overseeing piping design efforts across multiple projects while mentoring and developing a small team of designers. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in piping design within the process/chemical industry, with a strong background in both technical execution and team leadership. This role will be responsible for reviewing and validating design work, ensuring quality and consistency, and providing hands-on coaching to elevate team performance. While leadership and oversight will be the primary focus, this individual should be comfortable contributing to design production as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee piping design activities across multiple projects in the process/chemical sectorReview and check piping deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project and client requirementsMentor, train, and provide daily guidance to a small team of piping designersEstablish and maintain quality standards, best practices, and consistency across all design outputsCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and client stakeholdersProvide technical direction and resolve complex design challengesSupport project execution through occasional hands-on design contributionsRequired Qualifications10+ years of piping design experience within chemical, process, or industrial facilitiesDemonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or supervising small design teamsStrong background in piping layout, routing, and design review/checking processesProficiency with CADworx or E3D
