Join Our Team as a Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description: - Embrace the opportunity to provide quality speech and language therapy services to a vibrant, predominantly Native American population. - Engage in the rehabilitation of patients with diverse developmental, cognitive, and emotional challenges. - Plan and administer medically based speech therapy for both inpatient and outpatient settings, working hours typically from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. - Assess and interpret evaluations and test results for patients ranging from birth to geriatric age. - Collaborate with physicians to develop effective speech therapy treatment plans based on individual patient evaluations and diagnoses. - Make real-time adjustments to therapy plans based on patient progress and needs. - Document all assessment results, treatment, follow-ups, and termination of services in electronic health records. - Design and implement therapeutic strategies tailored to each patient’s goals. - Educate patients, families, and staff on speech-language procedures to enhance therapeutic carryover into daily life. - Provide specialty services, including but not limited to: - Swallowing evaluations - Videofluoroscopy (VFSS) or Modified Barium Swallowing (MBS) - Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) - Cognitive treatment - Pediatric speech/language and feeding evaluations - Geriatric clinic services - Assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluations - Contribute to the growth and quality improvement of the speech therapy service. - Collaborate with the Physical Rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers. - Participate in training and in-service activities for students and staff. Qualifications: - Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited institution. - Current certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA. - Valid, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from Arizona or any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
