Associate Research Coordinator - Anesthesiology (Brooklyn)

Position Summary Associate Research Coordinator – Anesthesiology, Brooklyn, NY. Responsible for basic to moderate coordination of research studies at the Medical Center, including recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, data collection, and study coordination. Supports patient/subject interactions, ensures protocol compliance with GCP, HIPAA and other obligations, and works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities Coordinate human subjects research, prepare and submit necessary documents to the Institutional Review Board, NYU Office of Clinical Trials and other parties, secure signatures, and submit monthly enrollment statistics. Assist in development and maintenance of departmental quality improvement activities, particularly in the pre‑surgical testing area. Develop draft budgets and assist with funding reports, identify new potential sponsors, and support grant application preparation. Collect, compile, analyze, and report data to principal investigators, sponsoring agencies and regulatory bodies; generate preliminary measurement reports. Perform clinical competency procedures (EKG, phlebotomy, centrifuge, specimen handling, storage and shipping) as required. Screen and schedule potential study participants, review inclusion/exclusion criteria, informed consent and documentation of willingness to participate. Collect and audit patient data from charts, laboratory results, treatments, adverse events, and external physicians’ offices; update databases and case report forms. Maintain up‑to‑date regulatory documents and assist with informed consent processes, ensuring study compliance and timely follow‑up with participants. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent. 0–1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work under supervision and operate research‑related equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet applications. Problem‑solving, time‑management, and ability to work well under pressure. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Prior experience with research protocols and in an academic medical center environment. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $66,300.00 – $70,000.00 annually, dependent on experience, education and hospital needs.
