SPANISH SPEAKING PHLEBOTOMIST
MONTGOMERY, AL

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Spanish-Speaking Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate is fluent in both English and Spanish and is committed to providing exceptional patient care while ensuring accurate specimen collection. This role is responsible for performing venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures, communicating effectively with Spanish-speaking patients, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and other specimen collection procedures for patients of all ages.
• Verify patient identity and accurately label and process specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Explain collection procedures and answer patient questions in both English and Spanish to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of laboratory specimens.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
• Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Training Program.
• Current Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or equivalent) preferred or required based on state regulations.
• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical or laboratory environment.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, laboratory, or outpatient clinic.
• Pediatric and geriatric blood draw experience.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong customer service skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when working with anxious patients.
