As a Scientist II within Packaging R&D for the Cleaning Business Unit, you will develop and deliver packaging solutions that delight consumers, enable manufacturing excellence, and drive profitable growth across some of the most trusted household brands.This role is ideal for an engineer or scientist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, influencing cross-functional teams, and turning consumer insights into innovative packaging solutions. If you're energized by turning ideas into products that reach store shelves and consumers' homes, we'd love to meet you.Hybrid - This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office of 3 days a week.In this role, you will:Lead Packaging DevelopmentOwn packaging development projects from concept through commercialization, including design, testing, qualification, scale-up, and launch.Develop primary, secondary, club, and e-commerce packaging solutions that balance consumer experience, performance, sustainability, cost, and manufacturability.Drive packaging solutions for new products, line extensions, and cost savings.Solve Technical ChallengesLead packaging development efforts where package design, manufacturing approaches, or technical requirements may be undefined or evolving.Apply engineering and scientific principles to troubleshoot packaging, manufacturing, and supply chain challenges.Assess technical risks and develop mitigation plans to deliver successful business outcomes.Influence Across the OrganizationPartner closely with Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and external suppliers.Effectively communicate technical recommendations and influence decisions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Support claims, demonstrations, and business cases to help drive project alignment and decision-making.Commercialize with ExcellencePlan and execute laboratory testing, pilot trials, manufacturing trials, and supplier qualifications.Develop specifications, test methods, packaging standards, and technical documentation necessary for launch readiness.Support successful scale-up and implementation across manufacturing facilities and supplier networks.What we look for:Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.3+ years of experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG) in packaging development, product development, process development, or other related technical fields.Ability to travel domestic and international as needed to manufacturing sites, suppliers, testing facilities, or business meetings.Familiarity with package testing methodologies, packaging specifications, and design software tools.Experience working with retailers, contract manufacturers, or global supplier networks.#LI-HybridWorkplace type:Hybrid - This position will be located in our Pleasanton, CA office, and the individual will be expected to be in the office of 3 days a week.Our values-based culture connects to our purpose and empowers people to be their best, professionally and personally.
