City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.Under the general supervision of the Director of the Laboratory, the Medical Technologist performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests on body fluids and substances, requiring independent judgment, with speed and accuracy. The efforts of the individual(s) in this position, in collaboration with other health care professionals, provide data for the most accurate diagnosis or individual treatment of diseases for optimum patient outcomes.Education/Experience LevelRequires degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. (BS Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MT certification.Certification required (ASCP, AMT or AAB) or eligible to take exam.
