Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Surgical Oncologist to become part of a well-established and growing surgical oncology program. This role will provide surgical oncology services across various locations in Southeast Michigan , presenting a remarkable chance to create a significant practice while aiding in regional expansion and program enhancement.

• Regional surgical oncology position supporting multiple sites in Southeast Michigan

The surgical oncologist will be part of a high-achieving team, collaborating with two hepatobiliary (HPB) surgeons , who have a strong surgical volume and a dedicated focus on:

• Education and surgical training
• Program development
• Clinical research and participation in clinical trials

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in complex oncologic care and to further develop HPB and GI oncology services in the region.

• Deliver comprehensive surgical oncology care within a multidisciplinary cancer program
• Manage intricate oncologic surgical cases, including advanced gastrointestinal and abdominal cancers
• Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborative care planning
• Support the growth of regional programs, referral development, and expansion of access
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, outcomes tracking, and service line development
• Participate in educational and research activities, including applicable clinical trials

The practice is structured to accommodate a diverse range of surgical oncology cases. Preferred experience and/or interests include:

• Melanoma and skin malignancies
• Soft tissue sarcomas
• Complex gastrointestinal cancers
• Peritoneal surface disease
• HPB oncology (preferred but not mandatory)
• Gastric and upper GI oncology (depending on training and interest)

The final case mix may be customized based on the candidate's expertise and the needs of the region.

• MD/DO required
• Completion of a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship (ACGME-accredited or equivalent), including programs approved by the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) and Canadian Surgical Oncology (CSSO)
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery
• Strong dedication to multidisciplinary collaboration and high-quality patient care
• Proven interest in program growth and regional practice development
• Experience in minimally invasive surgery preferred
