Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• Work on an 18-bed Med/Surg unit caring for a variety of patient types including oncology, surgical (bowel surgeries, GU surgeries, CBI), cellulitis, GI bleeds, CHF, overflow, and outpatient infusions
• Day shift patient ratio: 1:4-5; Evening/PM shift patient ratio: 1:6; Overnight shift patient ratio: 1:7-8
• Weekend rotation required; holidays every other
• 1-2 days of orientation based on comfort level
• No on-call required, but optional if interested
• Required certification: BLS
• Required skills: chest tubes, IV skills, port/central line management, and knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo; stable trach management preferred
• Preferred charting system experience: Epic; also uses Alaris and Pyxis
• May float within scope of practice to MS2, Cardiac MS2, CCU, and ER Holding, taking only MedSurg level patients
• Unit support includes CNAs, charge nurse with partial assignment, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team (Mondays and Thursdays), RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, RRT/Code Blue team, OT/PT/ST on weekdays with limited weekend coverage, and centralized telemetry with tele tech
• RNs will draw from central lines
• Chemo certification not required; traveler will not care for pediatric patients
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Scrub color: any color, must be professional
