This position supports Revolutional's customer, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) within the Network Design, Implementation, and Infrastructure program. You will contribute to a globally distributed enterprise network, focused on designing, deploying, and securing mission-critical infrastructure that supports large-scale federal operations. The environment is complex, multi-vendor, and security-intensive, requiring engineers who can operate across both network engineering and network security domains. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer who will design, implement, and support enterprise network and security solutions at scale. This is not a ticket-based operations role; you are expected to solve complex problems, improve architecture, and contribute to system evolution. You will work across routing, switching, security, and cloud connectivity, while collaborating with peers to ensure performance, resilience, and security across the network. As a Sr Network Engineer you will: Design, deploy, and operate enterprise network and network security solutions Troubleshoot complex network issues across multi-layered environments Analyze packet captures using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump Implement and manage solutions across vendors including Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, and F5 Support network security capabilities including firewalls, IPS (Cisco FTD), and secure remote access Design and support SD-WAN and hybrid connectivity architectures Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS) Support cloud connectivity solutions (AWS Transit Gateway, Azure ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) Develop or modify scripts (Shell, Perl, Tcl, F5 iRules) to automate tasks or enhance functionality Use monitoring and logging tools (SolarWinds, Splunk) for visibility and diagnostics Test network solutions using tools such as Ixia Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation (Visio) What You Bring (Requirements) Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field (or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience designing and implementing medium to large-scale networks. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. MUST be a US citizen or permanent resident. (No sponsorship or visa transfer available). Technical Capabilities Deep understanding of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, routing, switching) Experience with multi-vendor enterprise networking environments Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, IPS, VPNs) Hands-on experience with cloud network connectivity (AWS/Azure) Experience with packet analysis and network troubleshooting tools Familiarity with scripting for automation and operational efficiency Experience with enterprise monitoring and logging platforms Core Strengths Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to operate independently in complex environments Clear and effective communication skills Strong planning, organization, and execution discipline Collaborative mindset with accountability for outcomes Nice to Have (Differentiators) CCNP or CCIE (Routing & Switching or equivalent) Experience supporting VA or other federal agencies Experience with large-scale, globally distributed networks Exposure to network modernization or zero trust architectures Here at Revolutional we are pleased to have been repeatedly recognized for our outstanding work culture, the innovative work we do, and the employees on our team who make a difference each day.
