Position Summary :

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse in support of field construction and service activities. This includes inventory control, material staging, tool and equipment management, deliveries, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in construction or electrical supply chain management and a strong understanding of job site logistics and material flow.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

1. Inventory & Accuracy: Inventory Accuracy Rate – Target: ≥ 98%
   1. Cycle Count Completion Rate – Target: 100% of scheduled counts completed on time
2. Purchasing & Cost Control
   1. On-Time Material Availability for Jobs – Target: ≥ 95%
      1. Materials available before scheduled need-by date.
   2. Purchase Order Accuracy – Target: ≥ 98%
      1. Measured by accuracy of quantities, pricing, and delivery.
3. Warehouse Efficiency
   1. Order Fulfillment Accuracy – Target: ≥ 99%
      1. Correct items pulled and delivered per request.
4. Tool & Equipment Management
   1. Tool Loss/Damage Rate – Target: ≤ 1% of total inventory
      1. Measured by check-in/check-out system and inspections.
5. Safety & Compliance
   1. Safety Incident Rate (Warehouse) – Target: 0
      1. Reported OSHA recordables or lost-time incidents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Warehouse Operations

• Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping of materials, tools, and equipment
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of job site material requests
• Maintain accurate inventory levels; perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory
• Manage tool and equipment inventory, including check-in/check-out process, maintenance schedules, and calibration
• Develop and implement warehouse procedures and best practices to drive efficiency and accountability
• Supervise warehouse team; provide direction, training, and performance feedback
• Coordinate deliveries to and from job sites, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and scheduling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies

 

Purchasing & Procurement

• Manage day-to-day purchasing of materials, tools, and consumables to support projects and warehouse stock
• Source materials from preferred vendors and negotiate pricing and delivery terms when needed
• Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and reconcile with packing slips and invoices
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and the procurement team to anticipate material needs and prevent delays
• Monitor vendor performance and communicate issues with deliveries, substitutions, or backorders
• Work with accounting and project teams to ensure accuracy in purchase records and job costing

 

Reporting and Communication

• Track key metrics related to inventory accuracy, material turnaround, warehouse efficiency, and purchasing performance
• Communicate material lead times, backorders, and substitutions to internal stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support project schedules, minimize waste, and control costs
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a degree. At least 3 years of experience in warehouse management and purchasing , preferably in the electrical or construction industry in addition to the qualifications listed below.

• Strong knowledge of electrical materials and job site logistics
• Experience with inventory and purchasing systems (e.g., Sage, Kojo, or similar)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Familiarity with project-based purchasing or job cost accounting
• Experience working directly with vendors, distributors, and field teams in a subcontractor environment

Language/Interpersonal/Leadership   Skills

The successful candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. They should be able to express ideas clearly and concisely, both in person and in writing, and be skilled at listening to and addressing the needs of end users. The ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as operating instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals, is also essential.

Mathematical   Skills

Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, are necessary for the role. 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. In addition, individual must be proficient in inventory management systems such as Sage, Kojo or similar

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Dexterity of hands and fingers is required to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and business equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

This role operates in both warehouse and construction job site settings. The warehouse environment involves exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and the physical demands of loading, unloading, and organizing materials. On job sites, the Warehouse Manager may encounter active construction areas with uneven terrain, loud equipment, and weather-related conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility clothing is required when on job sites. The position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment. Some travel between the warehouse and job sites or supplier locations may be required depending on operational needs.
