The C2BMC Next Program, based in Huntsville AL, is seeking a Software Engineer to provide software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications/ Battle Management Sensor Resource Management (BM/SRM) team. Your primary responsibilities will be software development using Java, able to work with other people using good verbal and written communication on the C2BMC program. As a Software Engineer, you will work independently or with a small group and be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment. What You Will Do: Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications. Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs. Interfaces with other systems support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the operating system. Designs, codes, tests and implements tools for operations automation. Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases. Qualifications You Must Have: Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines and configuration. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid, team environment. Software engineering and software development with strong Java/J2EE, C++/00 or similar language experience. Experience with agile development methodologies. Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Qualifications We Prefer: Command and control system application development - Previous experience with message translation software Automated test and pipeline development experience Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress. Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration. Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success. Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
