Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to oversee and execute complex HVAC systems projects across commercial and industrial properties. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise HVAC service technicians in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls.
• Oversee the installation of new HVAC equipment, ensuring adherence to schematics, design specifications, and safety standards.
• Conduct detailed electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units.
• Perform mechanical systems repair and preventative maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment to maximize operational efficiency.
• Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC system drawings to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
• Manage plumbing connections related to HVAC systems when necessary for proper operation.
• Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs for all work performed while ensuring compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure HVAC system performance aligns with building automation systems for optimal energy management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by training team members on new technologies and best practices in mechanical systems repair.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance within commercial or industrial settings.
• Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding complex system integrations during new builds or renovations.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC components including refrigeration cycles, boilers, air conditioning units, electrical systems, and plumbing connections.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, building automation systems (BAS), electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and troubleshooting equipment issues efficiently.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment troubleshooting and repairs is essential; EPA certification is required for refrigerant handling.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience leading a team of technicians is preferred but not mandatory; however, strong communication skills are necessary to guide less experienced team members effectively.
• Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vans or service vehicles safely across multiple job sites.
