Assistant Director - Advancement Operations

Compensation Type: Salaried Compensation: $83,260.00 The Assistant Director, Advancement Operations serves as a keyleadership role within the Foundation, responsible for overseeingthe integration and execution of core functions includingcommunications, stewardship and alumni engagement, and dataoperations. Reporting to the Director, this position translatesstrategic priorities into coordinated, high-quality executionacross multiple workstreams, ensuring consistency, alignment, andeffectiveness in advancing fundraising and engagement goals. TheAssistant Director supervises a team of functional specialists andacts as a central point of coordination to ensure that campaigns,events, and donor engagement efforts are aligned, efficient, anddata-informed. This role works in close collaboration with internaland cross-functional partners, including Marketing, to elevatemessaging quality and institutional impact. Strategic Vision & Department Leadership Works closely with Director to align strategy and prioritiesfor Advancement initiatives. Oversees donor stewardship processes,including acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting. Supportsdevelopment and execution of alumni engagement initiatives. Ensuresconsistent and meaningful donor experiences across alltouchpoints. Oversees planning and execution of integrated campaigns.Ensures messaging is cohesive, timely, and aligned withinstitutional priorities. Maintains coordination authority forcommunications decisions to ensure clarity and alignment. Ensures effective use of CRM and other data technology (e.g.,Raiser's Edge) for tracking, reporting, and segmentation. Overseesdata integrity, reporting processes, and analytics. Supportsdata-informed decision-making across campaigns and engagementefforts. Operational Leadership Directly supervises Advancement Operations team members.Establishes clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.Provides coaching, feedback, and professional development support.Ensures accountability and consistency across functionalareas. Carries out, explains, interprets and enforces policy. Conductsannual employee evaluations, and recommends pay increases,promotions and other personnel actions. Approves leave andauthorizes overtime as appropriate. Participates in employeeselection process. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval,and in collaboration with Human Resources. Serves as a central decision-maker for day-to-day operationalquestions. Prioritizes workstreams and allocates resources to meetgoals. Acts as escalation point for cross-functional issues andcompeting priorities. Ensures timely execution and high-qualitydeliverables. Cross-Functional Coordination Leads day-to-day coordination of communications, stewardship,and data functions. Translates strategic priorities into actionableplans and timelines. Ensures alignment across campaigns, events,donor engagement, and data workflows. Identifies and resolvesworkflow gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies Partners with Event Manager on integrated planning andfollow-up. Collaborates with Marketing & Communications toincorporate strategic communications, branding, and contentdevelopment, while maintaining clear internal decision-makingauthority. Builds relationships across departments to supportcoordinated advancement efforts. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An appropriatecombination of education and directly related experience may beconsidered.
