We invite you to forge ahead with us.Experience and/or certifications held related to construction inspection or construction materials testing is not required but preferred. WSB is seeking a Materials Testing Technician for our Arlington or Melissa locations. WSB is looking for well-known and trusted professionals who value honesty, integrity, a strong work ethic, and superior client service.What You Will Do:Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.Provide test and inspection data for environmental, engineering, field, and laboratory projects. Must have a strong work ethic and positive attitude.Collect soil and concrete samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports.Use specialized equipment and apparatus to prepare reports and/or technical data.Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment. Maintain results log.Confer with Engineering staff on test efforts.Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment.Requires some lifting and carrying.Field assignments may require travel and/or work to be performed on site.Work with other task team members and leaders.Considerable contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors expected.What You Will Bring:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Must pass the following exams within 60 days of employment: Nuclear Density Safety Course (if you do not currently have).Ability to lift / carry a case that weighs 95 pounds and push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow required.Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.Valid Driver's License required.Ability to work nights and weekends.Ability to prepare reports and documentation.Attention to detail.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Leadership and interpersonal skillsOperates tools requiring fine motor skills.Moves materials weighing up to 75 pounds periodically.Traverses construction sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.Positions self to access tools and materials in various locations.Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.May remain in stationary position for extended periods.Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.Full-time position with standard business hours; occasional night work or overtime may be required based on project deadlines.Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.Travel may be required.WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in engineering, community planning, environmental, and construction services.
