This role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration across teams, and a commitment to building secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Design and implement robust, scalable, and testable backend systems and tools using Rust. Improve existing software architectures by identifying opportunities to increase performance, reliability, and efficiency. Participate throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including design, development, debugging, testing, and optimization. Develop solutions that address complex technical challenges in cybersecurity and industrial environments. Collaborate with product teams and engineering peers to deliver customer-focused capabilities. Integrate with third-party devices, data providers, and external systems while ensuring reliable data flows. Provide and receive constructive peer feedback through regular engineering review processes. Stay current with advancements in Rust, backend engineering practices, security concepts, and software design methodologies. Contribute ideas that improve engineering processes, product quality, and technical standards. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer who combines strong software development skills with curiosity, ownership, and a passion for solving complex problems. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, collaborating across disciplines, and building systems that operate at scale. 5+ years of experience developing backend systems in high-performance engineering environments. Strong proficiency in Rust and experience applying modern software engineering principles. 3+ years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL. 3+ years of experience working with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch. Experience designing and developing microservices architectures. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLAN, SDN, and VXLAN. Experience integrating software with third-party devices and external data sources. Experience incorporating AI tools, models, or services into development workflows. Knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity concepts. Experience with cloud-first development and deployment environments. Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Kotlin, Go, or Python in production settings is a plus. Experience with information security products, network security architectures, or industrial cybersecurity solutions is highly valued.
