8th Grade Math TeacherJob PurposeHelix Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and engaging 8th Grade Math Teacher to support student achievement and academic growth. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment, deliver high quality instruction aligned with state standards, and build strong relationships with students, families, and staff. This position plays an important role in supporting the school's mission and helping students prepare for high school success.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Student LearningTeach 8th grade math content aligned with Louisiana state standards Develop and implement engaging lesson plans using effective instructional strategies Present math concepts in meaningful ways with real world applications Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all learners Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed Provide interventions, support, and progress updates for students requiring additional assistance Prepare students for state and district assessments Maintain accurate student grades, attendance, and academic records Participate in curriculum planning and instructional improvement activities Incorporate technology and instructional resources into daily lessons Classroom ManagementCreate and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment Establish clear classroom expectations and routines Promote student engagement, accountability, and respectful behavior Maintain classroom organization and instructional materials Collaboration and CommunicationBuild positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Communicate professionally and consistently with families regarding student progress Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student success Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and extracurricular activities as needed Maintain confidentiality of student and school information Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport the overall vision and goals of Helix Community Schools Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership QualificationsBachelor 's Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field required Valid Louisiana teaching certification or ability to obtain certification required Previous middle school teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment Knowledge of Louisiana educational standards and instructional best practices Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast paced school environment BenefitsCompetitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan options Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment Apply TodayJoin Helix Community Schools and help inspire the next generation of learners through engaging and impactful math instruction.
