Medical Scribe

Job Overview We are seeking a Scribe Tech to record patient visits accurately and support patient care in an urgent care setting. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Capture detailed documentation of patient encounters in the EMR in a timely manner. Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures, including phlebotomy, urine drug screens, lab processing, and rapid point‑of‑care testing. Support site management by directing patient flow, managing inventory, and following up on labs. Maintain Department of Health (DOH) compliance of lab and exam rooms, including logbook upkeep and proper specimen handling. Escort patients to exam rooms, X‑ray or other on‑site facilities as needed. Facilitate diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, ultrasounds, etc.) and referrals to specialists via Aftercare. Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance. Help preserve a clean, courteous, and professional working environment and ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies. Provide compassionate care to all patients. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (undergraduate degree a plus). Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program and/or phlebotomy certifications (a plus, but not required). BLS certification required at time of hire. Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner. Flexible with full‑time schedule, including weekend days. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills in English; bilingual skills preferred based on location. Attention to detail, strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced urgent‑care environment. Knowledge of third‑party payer requirements preferred.
