Pierce St. - Council Bluffs, IA Work Schedule: This is a casual/PRN position. Casual/PRN employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business. Work days/hours will often vary from week to week. Shifts will nights. Conduct all aspects of sleep diagnostic testing.**Responsibilities:**# **Essential Functions**1. Positive relations when interacting with patients, visitors, families, physicians, customers, and coworkers.* Greet, smiles and makes eye contact.* Introduces self by name.* Volunteers to help co-workers and other employees.* Addresses patients and others by surname.* Responds quickly to patients and/or other peoples' needs.* Know and demonstrates 6 step customer complaint management process.2. Gather and Analyze Patient Information.* Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet patient specific needs (Physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedures, pertinent medical/social history), and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.* Completes and verifies documentation.* Explains pre-testing, testing, and post testing procedures to the patient.3. Prepares and calibrates equipment for testing.* Determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary, to equipment.* Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.* Performs appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make adjustments if necessary. Performs positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.4. Polysomnographic procedures.* Follows procedural protocols such as MSLT, MWT, Parasomnia studies, positive Airway pressure, oxygen titration.* Performs data acquisition while monitoring.* Documents Routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure and significant events in order to facilitate scoring.5. Polysomnographic record scoring.* Scores sleep/wake stages according to guidelines.* Scores clinical events according to protocols.* Generates accurate reports for physician review.6. Polysomnographic physician review.* Facilitates communication to pulmonologists for interpretation.7.
