We are seeking a Locum Physician Assistant in Mammoth Lakes, California .
Type: Locum Tenens
Specialty: Orthopedics Physician Assistant
Location: Mammoth Lakes, California
Rate: Open & Negotiable
Shift: Full-time with on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Position DetailsPatient Population: Orthopedic patients (Adult population)
Setting: Critical Access Hospital Inpatient, Outpatient & Operating Room
Responsibilities:
- Manage inpatient orthopedic care
- Perform patient evaluations, histories, and physicals
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, imaging, and medications
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and discharge planning
- First and second assist in orthopedic surgery
- Provide emergency orthopedic care with attending physician
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage for orthopedic and surgical services
Required Procedures:
- Surgical first assist
- Surgical exposure and tissue dissection
- Wound closure
- Dressing application
- Immobilization device application
- Orthopedic inpatient and outpatient management
EMR System: Cerner
Support Staff: Orthopedic physicians and multidisciplinary care team
Days Per Month: Full-Time (Guaranteed 36 Hours/Week)
On-Call/Weekends: Yes Nights, Weekends & Holiday Rotation
Requirements- Active California Physician Assistant License
- DEA Required
- BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Minimum 3 years of orthopedic inpatient, outpatient, and surgical experience
