Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist in a Specialty Pharmacy setting, focused on managing oral medication dispensing operations. This 13+ week contract position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Position Overview:
The pharmacist will oversee the entire oral dispensing pharmacy process, including prescription receipt, clinical review, medication dispensing, and patient follow-up. Key duties include benefits investigation, prior authorization coordination, managing copay and financial assistance programs, prescription processing, patient counseling, quality assurance, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and standards. Effective collaboration with prescribers, payers, patients, and healthcare staff is essential to ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing.

Responsibilities:

Fill and dispense prescriptions accurately
Verify and process medications with attention to detail
Run pharmacy reports for operational efficiency
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians
Assist with daily pharmacy operations and workflow

Qualifications:

Active, clear Illinois Pharmacist License
Experience in mid/oral dispensing pharmacy environments
Strong background in pharmacy operations and medication dispensing
Ability to work independently and lead pharmacy support staff
