Phlebotomist

Location: Oceanside, CA | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, 8 hr shift, 6AM to 6PM Monday–Friday depending on location, with weekend rotation (approximately 1 weekend per month) | Compensation: $20.25 per hour Overview A healthcare services provider is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position with strong potential to convert to a permanent role. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, safe, and courteous specimen collection for patients across multiple service locations. What you'll do Perform blood draws and other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) using straight and/or butterfly needles Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients Collect and store specimens according to established procedures and required temperatures Package and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity per protocol Record maintenance data, perform decontamination, and update patient information Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries Float to other locations as needed, with mileage expenses paid Required qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required in some states Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite High School Diploma or GED 1-4 years of experience Clean driving record and reliable transportation required Compensation and benefits Pay rate: $20.25 per hour Benefits available Mileage expenses paid when floating to other locations Why this role This contract position offers potential for permanent placement, along with paid mileage for float assignments and available benefits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
