2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow Standardized Work Instructions

2. Supports the teams in operational improvement

3. Develops Initial Standard Work Practices with the teams

4. Quality Checks and Inspections

5. Problem Solving Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of formed part

6. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service.

7. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

8. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

9. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

10. Comply with OSHA Safety and Health Rules

11. Know the proper and improper use of PPE and equipment with ultimate concern for personal safety and safety of others

12. Communicate any/all issues with equipment that needs to be addressed on weekend or other designated downtime of equipment.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Supports Operational Performance Metrics and meets targets for improvement

2. Supports annual operating plan

3. Cleaning and enhancing their work area

4. Perform 5S audits

5. Develop ideas for Kaizen and participate in implementation

6. Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Advanced technical training mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC

2. Previous employment in a manufacturing environment

3. Clear understanding of lean principals and the application of lean tool

4. Dependable and predictable attendance

5. Ability to work unsupervised

6. Clear Understanding of Programmable Controllers and Robotics

7. Ability to compare work against standards of quality provided and distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable tolerances

8. Through knowledge of automation safety exposure to high-speed equipment

9. Clear understanding of material flow and Supply Chain Management

10. Physical strength and stamina

1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
