As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 23 will be $42.08 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $65.70 per hour. Environmental Factors Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and extended shifts as the need arises. Minimum Qualifications Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience. OR Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND one (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Specialty Areas: Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Psychiatric Geriatric Pediatric/Adolescent Special Requirements Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
