Patient Benefit Specialist / Patient Financial Counselor

Job Summary


Our client is seeking a dedicated Benefit Specialist responsible for educating patients on insurance coverage, assessing their financial abilities, and updating their insurance information. The role involves building cost estimates and supporting patient check-ins, along with other front-office tasks.


Key Responsibilities

• Educating patients on insurance coverage and benefits.
• Assessing patients' financial ability and educating them on assistance programs.
• Updating and maintaining existing patients' new insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits.
• Building out cost estimates.
• Supporting patient check-ins and handling front office tasks in the morning.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a related field
• Strong insurance knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs
• Experience in cost estimation (out of pocket expenses versus insurance coverage)
• High school diploma or GED
