Surgery Veterinary Technician

*This position offers up to a $7,500 sign‑on bonus based on experience* BluePearl Pet Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking a detail‑oriented and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our skilled Surgery Team! Schedule: 4x10 hour week day shifts; occasional on‑call expectations Pay: $21.00 - $42.00 / hour This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum. For example: Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$3.00/hr Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$3.00/hr Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will: Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions. Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal. Set up intravenous fluids and CRI's. Continue expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors. Comfortable with medical math. Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre‑op, monitoring, post‑op, and recovery). Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc. Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically. Why BluePearl?
