Job Description:

- Unit : Labor & Delivery/Perinatal
- Total Beds : 12 L&D, 10 triage, 12 Antepartum
- Monthly Births : 200
- Required Certifications :
- NRP
- BLS
- ACLS
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Staffing Ratios : Follow AWOHNN guidelines
- Fetal Heart Monitoring System : Fetal Link
- Electronic Medical Record System : Cerner
- Charge Nurse : Yes, takes patient assignments when needed
- Support Staff : 2 scheduled OB techs per shift for deliveries and C-sections
- Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
- Call Requirement : No on-call duty
- Holiday Policy : One major and two minor holidays
- Scrub Color : Provided and must be sterile
- Ventilators : No
- OB/Neonatologist Availability :
- 2 OBs available 24/7
- 1 Neonatologist available 24/7
- IV Team : No
- Respiratory Therapy : 24/7 from NICU
- Pharmacy : 24/7
- Shift Schedule : 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM
- C-section Experience : Required with preference for those who can circulate and scrub
- Floating Policy : L&D floats to Antepartum and Postpartum
- Orientation : 3 shifts on the unit
- Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients :
- 20 weeks and above
- High risk cases including blood pressure issues, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, substance abuse, etc.
- Experience Requirements :
- Minimum of 2 years in L&D
- Experience with high-risk deliveries is essential
- Familiarity with medications like Pitocin, Mag Sulfate, and Insulin drips is required
- Travel experience preferred
- Nail Policy : No acrylic or overlay nails during assignment
- Cancellation Policy : Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
- Charting System : Cerner
- BSN Requirement : Not required
- License to Submit : Yes
- Trauma Level : Not specified
- Care Setting : Acute
