Role Description This full-time Outpatient Mental Health Therapist role is a hybrid position based in Birmingham, AL, allowing for a combination of in-person sessions and some work from home. The therapist will provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based modalities to support clients with a range of mental health needs. Daily responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating care with internal and external providers. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, participating in clinical consultation, and engaging in ongoing professional development. The therapist will also support referrals, communicate with families or support systems when appropriate, and uphold ethical and legal standards of practice. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in Mental Health care, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions. Skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to coordinate care, monitor progress, and adjust services as needed. Background in Social Work or related helping professions, with a strong understanding of community resources and systems of care. Competence in Family Therapy, including working with diverse family structures and supporting healthy relationship dynamics. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field; active or eligible clinical licensure in Alabama (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LICSW, or equivalent). Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse populations. Comfort with electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and basic technology tools used in clinical practice.
