Packaging Associate / Meat Processing Specialist

Location: Houston, TX (77086)



Position Type: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract (Temp-to-Hire potential based on performance and production needs)



Schedule: Monday - Friday (Saturdays as needed)

• Shift Options: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM OR 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Please state preference on resume)

Position Summary


We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented Packaging Associates to join our fast-paced food processing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, packing, and inspecting meat products while upholding strict food safety standards. Candidates must be comfortable working in a cold-storage environment and operating as part of a collaborative, safety-focused team.


Key Responsibilities

Packing & Processing

• Measure, weigh, count, and package/repackage meat products according to order specifications.
• Load raw and processed products into package processing equipment.
• Place and pour products or materials into containers using hand tools and facility machinery.
• Assemble, line, pad, and seal cartons, crates, and containers using glues, fasteners, and hand tools.

Quality & Safety

• Perform visual inspections of meat products and containers to ensure compliance with quality and customer specifications.
• Strictly follow all Food Safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and facility safety protocols.
• Identify and remove completed or defective products from the line.

Logistics & Documentation

• Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, and containers using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products using marking tools.
• Record product, packaging, and order details accurately on designated forms and tracking sheets.
• Assist with the sanitation and cleanliness of general work areas, tools, and containers using approved cleaning solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 6+ months of experience in warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing environments.
• Physical Environment: Ability to work continuously in a refrigerated environment ( 35°F to 45°F ) and periodically in a freezer environment ( -10°F to +10°F ; company apparel provided).
• Core knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Preferred:

• Prior experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, marination, or industrial sanitation.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Commitment to workplace safety, proper PPE usage, and maintaining a safe environment.

Work Environment & Shift Details

• Workplace: 100% Onsite
• Overtime & Finish Times: Work finishes when daily line production goals are met. Saturday work may be required based on operational demands.
