Job Summary Geisinger is seeking a BC/BE Ophthalmologist – Comprehensive. A successful candidate will join a collegial and well‑established practice with more than 20 doctors representing multi‑specialty Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. The new associate will acquire an existing robust practice in their specialty. This is an attractive opportunity for new graduates or experienced Ophthalmologists. The position is located at the new Healthplex in Pittston, Pennsylvania, a community that offers a balanced professional career and a fulfilling personal lifestyle while being in close proximity to NYC and Philadelphia. Key Responsibilities Interview patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories and family histories. Perform and/or interpret diagnostic tests as needed. Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness. Prescribe or administer medications. Prepare, maintain, and review records that include patients’ histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes. Work primarily in a clinical and office environment while satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) – required. Experience: Experience in ophthalmology (preferred). Certification & License: Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania (required). Benefits Medical school loan repayment available.
