Mechanical Engineer

CMC are supporting one of our partners and seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a team responsible for the design and development of ruggedized high-voltage power electronics systems. This is a hands-on, design-focused role where engineers take ownership of mechanical packaging activities from concept through production release, working closely with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering team. Initial Contract: 6 month contract (High likelihood of extension) Core Responsibilities Lead mechanical design and electronics packaging development in SolidWorks from concept through production release Design ruggedized enclosures and mechanical packaging solutions for high-voltage power electronics systems Integrate PCBs/PWAs into complex assemblies while considering thermal, structural, and environmental requirements Develop thermal management solutions including heat sinks, cooling paths, and heat dissipation strategies Support design reviews, manufacturability assessments, tolerance stack-ups, and technical risk mitigation activities Produce and approve mechanical drawings, analysis reports, and design documentation Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle Required Qualifications 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience Experience with electronics packaging and PCB/PWA integration High-voltage power electronics packaging experience Experience designing for shock, vibration, thermal management, and environmental sealing Familiarity with aerospace/defense standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-5400, and/or RTCA DO-160 Understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), material selection, and manufacturability principles Ability to conduct or review structural and thermal analysis #J-18808-Ljbffr Coalesce Management Consulting
