Description
American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist I for a hospital Radiation Therapy department, requiring an associate's degree, AHA BLS, and applicable licensure/certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Radiation Therapy department
- Serves adult and/or pediatric patient populations across acute inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, and outreach settings
- Day shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Entry-level role working under immediate to general supervision of a mentor/preceptor
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher required
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program with cardiovascular specialty emphasis, or JRCERT-accredited program with radiologic technology emphasis
- AHA BLS certification required
- Must meet ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI eligibility requirements for the applicable specialty within 12 months of hire
- License required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular/radiologic terminology
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
Additional Information
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with ordered procedures
- Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment for diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures
- Performs post-procedure review to confirm documentation and technical quality standards are met
- Transfers images and data to archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting
- Performs operator-level quality control checks and equipment maintenance per manufacturer guidelines
- Participates in continuing education and professional development activities
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly
- Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius
