Advanced Practice Provider, General Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic (935014) The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary team within the General Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic, delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with complex medical and social needs. The patient population is typically older and often requires coordination across multiple specialties, demanding a high level of clinical acumen, critical thinking, and time management. Job Summary As part of an academic mission teaching clinic, the APP will work alongside faculty, medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to patient care and clinical education. Responsibilities Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status. Synthesize data and utilize evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results. Demonstrate proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and training. Provide management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures. Facilitate or participate in quality related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings to improve clinical and system practice performance. Collaborate in research projects and protocols, and routinely apply evidence based best practices to patient care. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing with prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing, OR licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross. Advanced Practice education from an accredited program (Advanced Practice Education Program for RN or ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Program). Minimum 2 years relevant clinical experience. Preferred Experience in adult primary care or general internal medicine.
