Part-Time Phlebotomist

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Phlebotomist to join our clinical team. This role is responsible for obtaining high-quality blood specimens while ensuring patient comfort and safety in a behavioral health setting.

The Phlebotomist will:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and efficiently
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
• Prepare and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory
• Monitor patients during and after collection to ensure comfort and safety
• Maintain and stock phlebotomy supplies and equipment
• Accurately document procedures in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program required
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent) preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
