Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts (7:30–18:00, with occasional early shifts 6:30–17:00) | One late shift per week designated to complete the last patient of the day | On-call: 1 night per week | Weekend requirement: 1 weekend every other month | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, stent placement, and rotablator atherectomy
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation; manage reversal agents, thrombolytics, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors via infusion pumps
• Scrub and circulate cardiac cath lab procedures; perform sheath removal and monitoring, topical hemostasis, and IABP/Impella insertion support
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, manage Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz lines, and perform cardioversion as needed
• Maintain infection prevention standards including isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Document accurately using unit systems including Pyxis, MAC LAB, CUPID, and EPIC; communicate using SBAR methodology

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cath lab skills including ACT monitoring, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, and procedural sedation administration
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and managing IV infusion pumps
• Ability to fulfill on-call, float, and weekend obligations as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with structural heart procedures such as TAVR, Watchman, ASD closures, and valvuloplasty
• Background in vascular procedures including carotid stenting, endovascular interventions, stent graft placement, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Familiarity with vascular closure systems, external compression devices, radiation and laser safety, and hypothermia or malignant hyperthermia protocols
• Experience with central venous access, PICC placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, and pre/post procedure care
