Position Summary Position Title: Global Security Manager Location: Sterling Heights, MI, United States Category: Legal, Contracts & Compliance Job Type: Full-Time Career Level: Senior Security Clearance Required: Secret Office Hours: 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM Working with the Global Security Director, this role provides leadership oversight, direction and enterprise‑wide coordination of global security services for over 8,000 employees worldwide. The Global Security Manager enforces security policy and procedures while ensuring protection of classified information, intellectual property and sensitive government data. Duties include managing enterprise‑wide security programs to meet General Dynamics Land Systems and corporate requirements, federal regulations, and contract obligations. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and manage global security governance and enterprise‑wide security strategy. Align security strategy with Leadership Team, GDLS Cyber Security, Program Protections teams, and all GDLS functions. Identify critical risks and prioritize resources to mitigate and reduce risks. Integrate and communicate security protocols throughout the enterprise and global workforce. Lead GDLS Security Team and contract guard force. Provide expert security guidance, risk assessments, and best practices. Coordinate with DCSA, Army Counterintelligence, local, state, and federal law‑enforcement, and GDLS General Counsel. Provide executive protection for the President and other executives and employees as required. Anticipate external threats to employees, business locations, and intellectual property. Monitor global environment for potential security threats. Manage Travel Security program; coordinate with Global Security Director to suspend/restrict company business travel when appropriate. Ensure travelers receive safety and security training, threat briefings, and protection assistance. Develop and manage Emergency Evacuation Plans for GDLS personnel in high‑risk environments. Update and manage corporate‑wide security systems, including CCTV and access controls. Plan, develop, and implement security programs such as Emergency Response, Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management, and investigations. Develop policies and strategies for security operations, government programs, and access control. Deliver preventative programs to protect against financial loss, crime against persons, sabotage, espionage, and other threats to the business. Ensure compliance with NISPOM and other US government requirements, including counterintelligence processes. Provide strategic advice, direction, and counsel to security employees and contractors at all sites. Travel required: 25 % domestic and international. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a government‑issued Top Secret clearance. Ability to manage complex situations and make critical decisions for high‑value programs. Experience managing teams and effective liaison with local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies. Ability to respond to incidents or alarms after hours. 7+ years professional experience leading global compliance programs. 10+ years of supervisory experience. 15+ years of physical security experience leading and implementing multiple best practices. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of law‑enforcement or intelligence community experience. Leadership experience focused on Physical and Industrial security. Experience in overseas environments. Substantial experience in physical security countermeasures and technology. Ownership and program management of automation and technology implementation. Advanced degree. Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Exceptional customer relationship skills.
