Industrial Controls Technician

Controls or Industrial Automation Technician – Milwaukee, WI – Full Time We are looking for an experienced Controls or Industrial Automation Technician to join our maintenance team in Milwaukee, WI. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and designing and installing industrial control systems. What you’ll do Support the Operations team through hands‑on troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment. Design, fabricate, and install control systems to UL 508A standards, including panel building, electrical schematics, equipment BOMs, and PLC/HMI programming. Demonstrate strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, PanelView HMIs, Kinetix motion controls, and PowerFlex series VFDs. What you’ll bring Associate degree or higher in Automation, Industrial Controls, Electro‑mechanical, or a similar related degree (BSEE or BSEET preferred). Five or more years of industrial manufacturing experience in design, fabrication, and installation of industrial control systems including Control‑ and CompactLogix PLCs, SLC 5/00 and MicroLogix PLCs, PanelView Plus 7 series and PanelView 5000 HMIs, Kinetix servo drives, PowerFlex VFDs, GuardMaster safety relays, IO‑Link, and FANUC robotics. Ability to navigate and understand electrical standards such as NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL 508A. Experience with common fieldbus, communication protocols, and networking technologies such as EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, IO‑Link, AS‑i, CIP Safety, and managed Ethernet switches. Passion for industrial automation with a strong interest in mastering new automation technologies and continuing to grow and develop your skills and knowledge of industrial control systems. Excellent communication skills and a team‑player mentality ready to work hard and collaborate with the Controls and Maintenance teams. When you’ll work Available on 2nd shift (2:30 pm–10:00 pm) and 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:30 am). Maintenance team members work every other weekend and schedule days off on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Overtime opportunities are available for those who want to earn more.
