Infrastructure Engineer

*Description*
Our client is supporting a financial institutions cloud engineering organization and requires an Infrastructure Engineer who specializes in Terraform-based infrastructure automation across Azure and GCP. The consultant will develop reusable, secure-by-design Terraform modules, embed governance and security controls into infrastructure code, support cloud platform standardization efforts, and establish engineering best practices that enable scalable deployment of virtual machine workloads in a regulated enterprise environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer with experience designing, building, and securing cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role will focus on developing and maintaining enterprise Terraform modules that provision secure and compliant Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) IaaS resources.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure and GCP infrastructure services, cloud networking, security controls, Terraform development, and infrastructure automation. This engineer will partner closely with cloud architecture, security, and engineering teams to build reusable infrastructure patterns that enable rapid and secure deployment of virtual machine workloads across multiple cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for Azure and GCP infrastructure.
* Implement secure-by-default infrastructure patterns and reference architectures.
* Build and support Terraform modules that provision:
* Virtual Machines
* Managed Disks
* Storage Services
* Virtual Networks/VPCs
* Load Balancers
* Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations
* Integrate security controls, tagging standards, governance requirements, and compliance policies directly into Terraform modules.
* Collaborate with cloud security teams to implement infrastructure hardening standards and guardrails.
* Develop automated validation, testing, and deployment pipelines for Terraform-based infrastructure.
* Ensure infrastructure modules align with enterprise landing zone and cloud governance standards.
* Perform code reviews and establish Terraform development best practices.
* Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
* Create technical documentation, module standards, and operational procedures.

*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
