Responsibilities:

Greet patients warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere and answering questions with care and professionalism.

Assist patients with the check-in process, utilizing self-service kiosks or handheld tablets to streamline the registration.

Help maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the waiting area, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Provide support during patient breaks and assist with staffing shortages, including covering in the draw room when needed.

Perform clinical phlebotomy procedures accurately and safely, following established protocols for specimen collection and processing.

Demonstrate outstanding customer service skills by explaining procedures, setting expectations, and building trust with patients.

Maintain detailed records and documentation aligned with regulatory and facility standards.

Uphold confidentiality at all times, ensuring sensitive patient information is protected.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth flow of daily operations, supporting overall facility goals.

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, including expanding into more advanced phlebotomy or clinical tasks over time.

Required Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (retail, healthcare support, or similar fields).

Prior phlebotomy experience, including clinical or internship settings.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on compassion and professionalism.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry, with attention to detail.

Ability to handle patients with care, patience, and sensitivity.

Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment.

Ability to work effectively both in lobby assistance roles and clinical specimen collection.

Nice to Have Skills:

Certification in Phlebotomy or related healthcare credentials.

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or laboratory information systems.

Bilingual skills or additional language proficiency.

Familiarity with self-check-in kiosks and patient engagement tools.

Additional clinical skills or training in specimen processing.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

1-2 years of customer service experience.

Phlebotomy experience, whether through externships, internships, or professional roles.

Other Requirements:

Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, or evenings, as needed.

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to specimen collection.

Willingness to assist in both lobby and clinical areas to support staffing needs.

Maintain current phlebotomy certification/license if applicable.

Must adhere to all safety and confidentiality policies.

Physical ability to lift, move, or position patients and equipment as required.
