People & Culture Director

The People & Culture Director leads initiatives designed to support the development, well-being, performance, and long-term engagement of Compass Civics’ employees and volunteers. This position focuses on building a supportive organizational culture in which team members understand their responsibilities, receive meaningful feedback, have opportunities to develop their skills, and feel connected to the organization’s mission.

A central responsibility of this role is coordinating structured check-ins with new team members at the 30-, 60-, and 90-day milestones, as well as facilitating quarterly check-ins with existing employees and volunteers. These conversations provide an opportunity to understand individual experiences, assess role clarity, identify training needs, discuss challenges, and recognize achievements. The Director uses these insights to identify patterns across departments and recommend appropriate interventions to improve team effectiveness, retention, and satisfaction.
