The possibility for our employees to achieve their full potential, for our communities to be stronger and for everyone to have a healthier, happier place to live.Our portfolio of brands — Andersen Windows & Doors, Renewal by Andersen and Fenetres MQ — is crafted to serve customers across the new residential, home improvement and light commercial building sector.Join our more than 13,000 employees who are inspired every day to deliver exceptional experiences that turn possibility into reality.JOB DESCRIPTION:Andersen Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Technician to support an energetic group of Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Engineers to lead projects focused in the areas of Accelerated Weather Testing (Chamber Room and SAW) and Packaging TestingJOB RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Set-up and operate tests, perform measurements, photograph defects, complete root cause analysis of test failures, and document using Microsoft Word or Excel.Work independently with direction from engineers to test materials and units in support of their project workPrepare samples for material testing using saws and other shop equipmentFollow established or help develop new procedures to test materialsRecord and organize test results for engineers to reviewWork effectively as a team member and manage multiple priorities independentlyCommunicate progress on assigned work to achieve required timelinesMaintain an organized and clean work environmentFollow required safety, ergonomic, and environmental proceduresWork cooperatively with engineers to complete their projects and give input on issues uncovered during testing of productsBuild test fixtures using appropriate materials and toolsRough framing and installation of window and door units into thermal chambersOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS2-year technical degree or equivalent experienceExcellent attention to detail, communication, and customer focus skillsWorking knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.Strong aptitude in analysis and problem solvingAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsDemonstrated ability to work with hand and power toolsAble to work flexible hours to support testing assignmentsMust be able to operate power industrial trucks (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)Must be able to operate typical laboratory & shop equipment (miter saw, table saw, drills, calipers, etc.)Strong math, science, mechanical, and experimental skillsStrong aptitude in process improvement and problem-solvingStrong interest and basic aptitude to work in a technical or scientific fieldBasic knowledge of window and door productsPAY RANGE:$27.80 - $40.30CULTURE AND BENEFITS:At Andersen, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do.
