Position: Material Handler / CDL Driver

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Duration: 7 Month Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: On-site, typically Monday–Thursday 6AM-4PM, with overtime hours on Friday + Saturday .

This company is supporting large-scale data center and infrastructure projects and is hiring a Material Handler / CDL Driver to assist with the transportation, staging, and coordination of materials on-site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of driving and hands-on work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This individual will be responsible for moving materials, supporting jobsite logistics, and ensuring crews have the equipment and supplies they need to complete work efficiently and safely.

Core Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and supplies between yards, vendors, and job sites
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and secured properly
• Stage and distribute materials across active job sites to support field crews
• Track and update inventory, including documenting incoming and outgoing materials
• Coordinate with field teams, supervisors, and logistics personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Assist with general material handling tasks including organizing laydown yards and maintaining a clean work environment
• Support jobsite operations by running errands, picking up supplies, and assisting with basic labor tasks as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company standards
  

Required Skills and Experience

• Valid CDL Class A or B license required
• Ability to operate trucks and transport equipment safely
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including lifting 50–75 lbs and being on your feet for extended periods
• Strong work ethic and willingness to support both driving and manual labor responsibilities
• Basic communication skills and ability to work well with a team
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in construction, logistics, material handling, or similar field environment
• Experience supporting data center or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with inventory tracking or basic Excel/documentation
