Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Calabasas CA.Work Schedule: Monday, Thursday-Saturday 8:00AM -6:30PMJob ResponsibilitiesParticipate in specimen testing according to established procedures working under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab ScientistRecord dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays. Ensure material used is not expired prior to usePerform pipetting using pre-set devices, calibrated and approved automatic devices or fixed volume dispensersPerform preventative maintenance on equipment, document PM appropriately, and immediately contact appropriate personnel for problems requiring complex instrument repairsAdhere to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodiesDocument all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory complianceDevelop an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory resultsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyPreferred QualificationCurrent or prior Labcorp experience1 year or more of lab experienceAdditional Job StandardsProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work independently and within a team environmentHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
